In places where rates are high, energy can be cost-prohibitive for business owners. And in areas where reliability is spotty, there’s the potential for loss of productivity and revenue.

It’s clear that businesses depend on reliable power to fuel their work. That’s why Georgia Transmission works with local EMCs to identify and meet the energy needs of communities and businesses across the state.

Take for example Valentine Farms Business Park, a top economic development site in Northeast Georgia that’s home to Toyota, North American Stainless and other businesses.

To meet the needs of these existing businesses, as well as continue to attract new development in the region, we worked with Jackson EMC to construct an additional 230 kilovolt-transmission line and substation — shoring up reliability throughout the community and enabling economic expansion.

In northern Forsyth and southern Dawson counties, residential and business growth in and around the Dawsonville Outlet Mall dictated the need for additional transmission infrastructure. Working with Sawnee EMC, Georgia Transmission built the Hubbard Town 115 kV Substation and associated two-mile Hubbard Town 115 kV Transmission Line Tap to provide reliable service well into the future.
